Rules of League Play

1.      Locations that use A&M Amusement for 100% of their Coin-Operated Amusement equipment and have a Galaxy II dart machine are eligible to sponsor teams in the A&M – Bud Dart League.
2.      The game played is determined by your league format, designated before the first night of league play, and will remain the same throughout the season.
3.      Players may use their own darts, as long as they are unaltered factory issued darts and tips, and do not exceed eight (8) inches in length, and do not exceed eighteen (18) grams in weight. Otherwise, bar darts will be supplied by each location operating a game.
4.      A dart that sticks, but does not score, may NOT be manually scored.
5.      All Galaxy games should have foul lines positioned eight feet from the line on the Galaxy machine. Players throw from behind the foul line.  Players will be allowed to lean across the foul line with their trail foot, so long as their trail foot does not touch the floor before the dart scores.
6.      The dart machine is ALWAYS RIGHT. If the machine is not operating correctly, both team captains will decide whether to play, call a repairman, or make up the game.
7.      Teams will consist of a number of players determined by the league format. Each team’s player information will be accessible through the league menu on the Galaxy II dart game.
8.      In the event of absent team players, a sub may be selected from one of the names on the sub screen. If the league being played in does not support handicapping, the substitute player used must be of equal or lesser skill level than the person they are playing in the place of. To enter a sub, press the Up or Down button until the arrow points to the player not present and press ENTER.  The substitute player menu will then appear on the screen. Press select until the arrow points to the name of the player who is substituting. If that player’s name is not on the screen, choose NEW SUBSTITUTE, and press ENTER. A new screen will appear. Input the player’s First AND Last names into the screen and press Enter. If the league being played is a handicapped league, use the up or down buttons to scroll through to the new players handicap value on the screen. Input the player’s MPR and / or PPD. If the player’s MPR or PPD is in question, there are two options. First, consult with the opposing team captain and put the agreed upon values into the dart game. If an agreement cannot be reached, immediately contact the league director for a proper handicap value.
9.      GAMES MAY ALSO BE PLAYED WITH A MISSING PLAYER. Pressing PLAYER CHANGE for the missing player’s turns will pass the spot of the missing player.
10.     Teams will alternate each week, playing one “Home” game, then one “Away” game, schedule permitting.
11.     Teams will get one (1) point per win.
12.     Teams going out on a tie, win.
13.     Each team will play all other team at least once, schedule permitting.
14.     Game time is 8:00pm. Teams will have 15 minutes to show. If a team is not there at that time, it will be declared a forfeit. Please take rare extenuating circumstances into account before making the final decision to declare a forfeit. It is the goal of A&M – Bud darts to have NO forfeits in any dart league. Teams and / or players responsible for forfeits may be expelled from the league.
15.     When a forfeit occurs, the score will be as follows. Forfeits in fifteen game leagues will be recorded as a ten game to five score. Forfeits in thirteen game leagues will be recorded as nine games to four. Forfeits in eleven game leagues will be recorded as eight games to three. The League Director holds the authority to adjust these forfeit game scores at his discretion, after attempts to reschedule a forfeit have failed.
16.     In case of extenuating circumstances, play can be made up if a team makes arrangements eight (8) hours in advance, prior to match.
17.     Players pay $3.00 per week in dues, and also pay their own quarters for the games played on machine. The league director may choose not to asses dues in certain leagues. When this happens, there will be no award for wins.
18.     HOME TEAM should insert coins to activate menu.
19.     Press the SELECT button until arrow points to League Menu, then press ENTER button.  Choose Play League and press the ENTER button. Choose the appropriate league by using the up and down arrows, and press enter. Follow on-screen instructions to set up home and visiting team information. Refer to Rule 7 to choose substitute player(s).
20.     A player released from one team wanting to play on another team must have WRITTEN PERMISSION from the team captain to play on the other team. This written permission must be turned into the league office or a league official.
21.     Bars will not charge a cover charge to dart players during league play.
22.     No kibitzing or harassment from players or spectators will be tolerated. No foul or abusive language will be tolerated.
23.      In the case of physical violence, the player or team will be expelled from the league and forfeit all points and monies earned.
24.     Abuse of equipment, poor sportsmanship, or unethical behavior may be grounds for forfeiture of a game, a match, or expulsion from the league.
25.     It is EACH PLAYER’S responsibility to see that the machine is displaying the player’s name prior to throwing any darts. If a player throws when the machine is displaying an opponent’s name, the opponent has the option of accepting that score and allowing play to continue, or using the Backup Dart feature to return the game to it’s proper position.
26.     If in team play, a player throws when the machine is displaying the name of that player’s partner, each player loses one turn automatically.
27.     There will be a $20.00 sponsorship fee for each team being sponsored, payable before the first night of league play.
28.     Team captains are responsible for $12.00 each night. ($3.00 per player). Team is also responsible for total team money regardless of how many players are present. Again, this may be waived in specific leagues based on the league director’s discretion.
29.     All money from both teams will be placed in an envelope and placed in the dart machine by the team captain. The team captain will write the team name, date, and amount of money on the outside of the envelope.
30.     Total team points determine standings.
31.     Prize money will be paid on the basis of a minimum of 25 cents per player, per team win.
32.     All ties at the end of the league season for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places will be played off. Previous week’s standings shall determine playoff order and home team. All else being equal, the flip of a coin shall determine order of home team.
33.     1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams will receive trophies, plaques or like prizes determined by the league director.
34.     Patches or pins will be awarded for 6, 7,8, or 9 dart outs; 8 and 9 mark rounds; 3 in a bed (all 3 darts must stick); hat trick (all 3 darts must stick); Ton 80; and League Champ. One of each patch or pin per player, per year. Team captains must have witnessed all darts. All awards will be given out at the dart banquet.
35.     Locations may only have two (2) teams per dart machine, per league.
36.     In the Cricket and Three Pro leagues, for every A-Team Player on a team, there must be either a player that is rated at/or below master pro also on that team.
